Melissa's love affair with clay spurs her creativity, and she channels her energies into exploring imaginative ways to turn simple pinch pots into totally unique pieces of art. She sees endless possiblities in the way clay can be manipulated and is always amazed that others can't tell that a finished work of art started as an humble pinch pot. Melissa finds working with clay to be relaxing and therapeutic. She feels a strong connection to clay as an organic substance, and her affinity for nature and animals is a recurring theme in her work.

Born and raised in London, England, Melissa Goulette moved to the US when she graduated from school. An art lover her entire life, Melissa considered herself primarily a painter until a friend agreed to take a watercolor class if Melissa would take a ceramics class. And voila! Another potter was born.
