The Cary Clay Cooperative (CCC) was formed in the fall of 2004 to serve the needs of potters in the Cary, Apex and Morrisville areas of North Carolina. The brain-child of Andi Dees, Ceramic Arts Specialist at Jordan Hall Arts Center in Cary, CCC’s mission is to encourage, support and foster the artistic expression of its members through collaborative efforts. By sharing techniques, education and experience, CCC members have an opportunity to hone their skills and expand their knowledge. CCC also offers its members opportunities to market their work through various venues.
The coop membership consists of instructors, professionals, amateurs, and hobbyists who all have different backgrounds, skill levels and unique styles. Founding members include Joy Bisesi, Lois Brucker, Andi Dees, Marcy Halsted, Dawn Mecklenburg, Johanna New, Jacquie Ossi, Gina Owen, Susanne Portanova, Brenda Taylor, and Belinda Wight. CCC is governed through its collaborative membership, with each member serving on at least one of the five governing committees. Andi Dick acts as the coop’s advisor. In January of 2006, the CCC opened membership to all Cary area potters. Check out our Potters page to find out more about our new members!
